Interfaith Alliance Indianapolis (IAI) and its Care for Creation Committee are actively reaching out to congregations and people of all faiths to urge them to address the issue of Global Climate Change.   Terms to describe this Bible-based effort include Creation Care, Care for Creation, Green Ministry, Eco- or Environmental Justice and so on.   To help make this happen, we offer a range of resources. These include:

  • Printed resources

  • Videos on Why Care for Creation?

  • Speakers and group discussion leaders

  • Energy saving advice

How To Make Yours A Creation Care Congregation

A Creation Care Congregation is one that is working to weave environmental stewardship into all that it does.

In many congregations, certain individual members see the need and take personal responsibility for certain "green" actions".   While this is praiseworthy, if and when that person is not available, those actions usually end.

In a congregation that sees the Biblical, moral and economic basis for embracing environmental stewardship, these "green" actions are institutionalized and viewed as the responsibility of the congregation as a whole.   In other words, these "green" actions reflect the congregation's religious values and are seen as "just the way we do things around here".
